In May, Let’s Get Moving for Youth!
March 31, 2026
The Move for Youth challenge, in partnership with the National Bank of Canada, is back this year. From May 1 to 15, 2026, the public is invited to walk, run, cycle, and stay active to give meaningful support to vulnerable youth in Outaouais and Eastern Ontario.
For two weeks, individuals, businesses, and groups of friends can rally around a shared goal: offering a brighter future for local youth. By taking part in the challenge, everyone helps strengthen the support network available to those who need it most.
For the 2026 edition, participants are aiming for a collective goal of 75,000 kilometres—equivalent to approximately 150 million steps. The event also seeks to raise $175,000 through public participation and partner support, helping fund initiatives that promote the well-being and success of youth in the region.
What is Move for Youth?
For the past five years, Centraide Outaouais has been organizing the Move for Youth physical activity challenge in collaboration with the National Bank of Canada. Since its launch, the initiative has raised more than $473,000.
The funds collected are used to provide youth with safe gathering spaces, mental health support, homework assistance, and a variety of educational activities—helping foster their growth and overall well-being.
How to participate?
In 2026, the Move for Youth challenge will be hosted on the CrowdChange platform. Participants will be able to register, create or join a team, and easily collect donations online.
The Strava app will be used to track and record physical activities—walking, running, cycling, and more—that contribute toward the collective goal.
Activity data will be automatically integrated into the challenge on CrowdChange, turning individual efforts into collective progress toward shared goals, with several prizes to be won along the way.
By taking part, people do much more than stay active—they help provide local youth with the support they need to thrive year-round. It’s the perfect opportunity to rally around a cause that matters. Let’s come together and give our youth every reason to dream big about the future. 💙🚶♂️🚴♀️🏃♂️
