February 7, 2022

ENJOY A UNIQUE PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY WHERE MUTUAL SUPPORT AND KINDNESS GO HAND IN HAND!

  • Do you want to get involved in the community and contribute to the well-being of disadvantaged people?
  • Would you like to learn more about the philanthropic environment and use your expertise while acquiring new skills?
  • Are you ready to take on a new challenge and change your workplace for a temporary assignment?
  • Do you seek to extend your network of contacts across federal public service departments and agencies or organizations operating in a wide range of business sectors?

If so, join Centraide Outaouais’s team of account managers. We have been at the forefront of the fight against poverty and social exclusion, including major fundraising efforts, for the past 75 years.

WHAT IS AN ACCOUNT MANAGER?

Account managers provide support and advice to Centraide workplace campaign organizers each year. Thanks to the dedication of these seconded employees from the federal public service or businesses, we can support 84 organizations and seven initiatives in the Outaouais region.

In tandem with the leaders and advisors in the Philanthropic Development and Communications Division, you will help develop and implement campaign plans, strategies, and tools, in addition to providing coaching, mentoring, and training to campaign teams. And many other exciting challenges await you!

What are the benefits?

Here is a unique opportunity for you to work with a team of committed philanthropic advisors who thrive on excellence. You will also be able to acquire knowledge and skills while expanding your professional network. You will learn best practices in philanthropy. You will see or rediscover the Outaouais from another perspective, that of poverty and social exclusion. And when you return to your workplace, you will become ambassadors for your community and Centraide Outaouais, spokespeople who value solidarity and sharing.

I know about the GCWCC as a donor, having worked for the federal government for 25 years. I have always been a donor (goods and money) or a volunteer. Being involved in my community is important to me. I wanted to develop my knowledge in philanthropy, and that’s why I chose to become a portfolio manager.

From the outside, we don’t see all the work accomplished by Centraide Outaouais and the community organizations it supports. Working in-house, together with the team, you take the full measure of the community’s needs and the impact of Centraide on the lives of those in need.

“As a portfolio manager, I have developed skills that will be useful to me in performing my duties in my department. Leading 19 departmental campaigns over the past two years, I have learned how to conduct campaign analyses, develop and implement strategies, and solve problems, often within tight deadlines. Not to mention that I was able to broaden my network by rubbing shoulders with departmental teams, especially through training and meetings.”

— Betty Rice, Portfolio Manager at Centraide Outaouais
