Back to School

May 18, 2021

Centraide Outaouais announces the start of registration for the Back to School program. Low-income families who register for the program can purchase new and popular school supplies at 75% off the regular price.

Registration will take place during May and June at participating community agencies. To find out the eligibility criteria or the contact information for the participating organization nearest to their home, parents can contact Centraide Outaouais at 819-771-7751, ext. 0 (toll-free: 1-800-325-7751). They should then contact the agency in their area to get information about registration dates.

“We are pleased to ease the financial burden of back-to-school for nearly 1,200 families each year,” said Centraide Outaouais Executive Director Nathalie Lepage. In the current situation, this program is all the more timely as it provides each student with all the tools they need to succeed at school. I want to applaud the exceptional work of organizations and volunteers who make Back to School a family-friendly annual event.”

Since its inception in 1995, the Back to School program has helped families purchase 53,092 school supplies lists. On average, the program assists just over 2,000 children each year. To date, $2,237,000 has been invested in this initiative.

Centraide Outaouais wishes to thank PME INTER Notaires for its $10,000 donation to the program.

Please note that the organizations have put in place special measures to ensure the safety of all.
